According to a recent review by Digital Trends, Gemini Notebook's mobile app now includes a live audio recorder that allows users to capture up to one hour of audio directly within the app. This innovation removes the need for a separate recording app and subsequent file uploads, streamlining the note-taking and meeting documentation process.

- Supports up to 1 hour of recording with pause/resume functionality
- Allows combining audio with photos for enhanced note context
Product angle
The source review highlights Gemini Notebook’s integration of a live audio recording feature within its mobile application, allowing users to capture lectures, meetings, or personal ideas as they happen. This seamless approach eliminates the traditional hassle of switching between a recording app and the note-taking interface, providing immediate use of captured material as working sources inside the notebook.
Users can pause recordings to manage breaks and resume without ending the session, with the audio becoming an examinable source to extract information or follow-ups. Additionally, photos can be added alongside audio to preserve visual context, such as handwritten formulas, which supports better recall and comprehension.
Best for / avoid if
This feature is well suited for students, educators, professionals, and team members who need to document lectures, meetings, or brainstorming sessions efficiently. It benefits those who appreciate integrated multimedia notes and want to interact with the audio afterwards through queries about discussions or decisions made.
However, users who frequently have sessions longer than one hour or require continuous extended recording might find the limit restrictive and have to manage multiple recordings. Those who rely heavily on detailed transcription and uninterrupted audio capture may need to consider additional tools alongside Gemini Notebook.
Pricing and alternatives to check
While the source review does not detail pricing or subscription plans for Gemini Notebook, potential buyers should explore the app’s official site or app store listings for the latest cost and tier information. Considering pricing is crucial for educational institutions or enterprises intending widespread deployment.
Alternatives to Gemini Notebook for live recording and note integration may include established note-taking apps with audio capabilities like Microsoft OneNote or Notability, which also support multimedia notes and have different price points. Comparing these options alongside Gemini Notebook helps buyers evaluate features against budget and specific needs.
