What happened
RateGain reported consolidated net profit of ₹74.7 crore for the September quarter (Q2 FY27), marking a 46.5% increase compared to ₹51 crore from a year ago. Operating revenue surged 152.6% year-over-year to ₹745.4 crore, led by the integration of Sojern, which RateGain acquired for $250 million in November of the previous year. However, on a sequential basis, net profit declined 21.3% from ₹94.9 crore in Q1, and revenue decreased 5% compared to ₹785 crore.
Adjusted for deferred payments related to the Sojern deal, RateGain’s net profit rose 78% YoY to ₹90.8 crore, with adjusted EBITDA more than tripling to ₹169.1 crore. For the first half of FY27, the company’s operating revenue scaled up 169.5% to ₹1,530.4 crore. Its EBITDA similarly saw a strong increase, with reported EBITDA growing 214.2% and adjusted EBITDA up 250.9%. The company has already surpassed its previous full-year EBITDA within the first half of FY27.
Why it matters
The acquisition of Sojern significantly expanded RateGain’s footprint in travel marketing technology, especially among destination marketing organizations (DMOs), hotels, airlines, and other travel service providers. This strategic move has broadened its customer base from 3,224 clients at the end of FY25 to over 14,538 clients as of September 2026, reflecting a 4.5x expansion.
RateGain’s revenue mix has shifted heavily toward marketing technology, which now accounts for 80.2% of total revenue, with data as a service and distribution comprising the remainder. Its customer portfolio includes many of the world's leading hotel chains, airlines, and car rental companies. The business is geographically diversified, with the majority of revenue generated from North America and significant contributions from Europe and Asia-Pacific.
What to watch next
In the latter half of FY27, RateGain plans to deepen the integration of its combined offerings with Sojern to attract more customers and increase platform usage. The company is prioritizing expansion of AI capabilities to help clients optimize their travel demand forecasting and operational efficiency amid evolving market conditions.
RateGain’s current sales pipeline stands at ₹660 crore, with new contracts worth ₹277.7 crore secured recently. The company’s strong growth trajectory will depend on successful execution of cross-selling opportunities, continued innovation in its AI-enabled solutions, and managing its remaining debt from the acquisition, which currently stands at $31.3 million after repaying 75% of the original $125 million debt facility.
